LOL!!!!!!!! What a JOKE! Clearly they are not carefully reading e-mails. Do you think this goes for applications too?

So, they have gotten slightly better than last year? :P

Last year, I was given a numbered rank on the waitlist which I responded to and informed them I didn't want to remain on the list. TWO DAYS later I received an acceptance letter (which I also respectfully refused). TWO DAYS after that they announced the 650 lost applications.

So.. the good news... they've improved.

Is anyone else still not numbered on the waitlist? I am still a big zero out of zero.

Yes. I am still 0 of 0 as well. I've been wait-listed at Ottawa since May

I was 0 of 0, and I called in. They gave me my ranking. As far as I know, everyone has a ranking right now. I just think they have forgotten to update a few infoweb accounts. They seemed rather surprised when I told them I wasn't ranked yet, and they updated my status immediately.

Good luck to you both. This waiting game is painful, but you're not alone!

Ok, turns out it was an error. I'm ranked 348 for both categories...

On the other hand, Queen's offered me spot through email today, and Western just sent me a letter to request to remain on their waitlist yesterday, so... guess that's settled.

I was going to say that, too :)

(July has 31 days - may have to wait until we're at the 15.5 mark ;))

I called them a few weeks ago and she told me they hadn't finished revising everyone's waitlist and it would take until the end of the month. So make that mid-july promise end of July.

The list has been updated. The total number is 407 now. I've moved to a single digit less than 5.... Close enough to hope but too far to gain comfort. How many offers, if any, do you think will be made before September? Is the August 15 deadline for tuition relevant? Good luck to everyone and don't lose heart.

I think if you're under 5, you're in a pretty damn good spot. I wouldn't be able to tell you how many offers they'll send out since it just depends on so many factors and varies from year to year. Specially since we don't have much to base on from last year because of their administrative mistake of overlooking so many applicants. Not sure what tuition deadline you're talking about, but you do have to email them telling them you want to remain on this revised wait list (I think before August 15th?).

Good luck everyone!

I've declined my offer to Ottawa so one more spot should open up soon. I had picked some really good profs so whoever gets my schedule is in good shape! Good luck to everyone on the waitlist :D

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what they think my chances are...im quite low on the waitlist...in the 300's now. Its just a little bit unnerving because we can't look at what happened in previous years because it seems like they keep changing their system. And last year they lost 600 applications.

I don't think your chances are great if you're in the 300's, but you never know I guess. I'm 232 I think, but most likely won't be accepting Ottawa at this point even if I get an offer, so you can deduct another 1 from your rank :D

Cheers,

I don't want to discourage anyone but my own chances are probably about 1 in 5 at this stage, and I am a single digit.... I hope I am vastly underestimating my chances but I don't want to be shocked by reality. I think anyone over number 10 is exceedingly unlikely to be offered admission this cycle if they follow the ranks in order.

Hmm, how did you find out about your offer and was it from the waitlist? Thanks for posting ;).

No, I was admitted to Ottawa back in late april (not off a wait list). I was just accepted off another waitlist so I have declined my spot at Ottawa.

Congrats on Oz Vickay! You have no idea how badly I want to go to Ottawa :) This wait is killing me.... I almost want to start looking for a place but it will hurt so bad when I get rejected. I need the list to move four spaces.... so close yet so very very far.... I can't sleep!
